For all those who feel a little lost right now… maybe you just haven’t found your Peter Pan yet.
Tuneful Tuesday Week 93: “Bloom’n’Grow Forever!”
It’s mother’s day week at Bloom’n’Grow Florist. Time to hunker down, endure some sleepless nights, and make thousands of moms happy! In honor of all of our hard work, here is Bloom’n’Grow’s namesake song. 🌸
Tuneful Tuesday Week 92: Detour
It’s my wonderful, crazy, silly, fun-loving mom’s birthday today. So, today my Tuneful Tuesday is a duet of sorts in honor of the woman who taught me that it’s ok to sing terribly—as long as you’re having fun doing it. This was a song my great-grandmother taught my mom and then my mom taught it to me. I don’t know why; but, it’s become a bit like our family’s anthem. So, this one is for you mom. Thanks for always being there for me through all of life’s detours.

Tuneful Tuesday Week 91: Landslide
As I’m starting to recover from my annual sinus infection (yay allergies!), one of my students said I sounded like Stevie Nicks with my low, raspy voice; so, I give you my favorite Fleetwood Mac song, Landslide.
When I was about 8 years old, I used to sit on my tree swing and sing this song at the top of my lungs. There was just something about this song that spoke to me. I would sing it over and over and over. One time our neighbor even came out of his house and clapped for me. 😉 I haven’t sung this song for at least a decade and it still brings back the feelings of nostalgia and beautiful melancholy.
Tuneful Tuesday Week 85: The Parting Glass
St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and this is one of my favorite Irish tunes. The mixture of melancholy and nostalgia really speaks to my heart.
Tuneful Tuesday Week 83: Arms
Between the holidays and a long and nasty bout of laryngitis, my Tuneful Tuesdays are finally back! Here is my version of Christina Perri’s “Arms”. I’ve been enjoying playing with my mixed voice and “pop” style lately as it’s a big change from my usual classical style.
This song from Toy Story 2 always pulls at my heart strings…. the story of a loved toy doll whose owner grows older and loses interest in her but then one day the owner finds the toy and hugs it once again. The love, the nostalgia, and the beautiful story of loyalty just gives me all the feels.
Merry Christmas everyone!
My gift to each of you is my most requested Christmas song. One year I didn’t program this on my annual Christmas concert and there was a bit of an uproar. Now I make sure to end each concert with O Holy Night.
May this holiday bring you peace, happiness, and health.
All my love to you!
Christmas is almost here! Here’s a little ditty to bring some holiday cheer.
Tuneful Tuesday Week 78: Let It Snow
This happy little song will be opening my annual holiday concert. Mark your calendars now and come hear some traditional holiday standards, a few winter classical art songs, and a group sing-along.
